the Big Bend

the Big Bend

Welcome to the Big Bend. This place is just one of the many reasons I love Texas. New Year’s Day dawned a rainy, foggy mess and never let up, but I still kicked off 2016’s Park Crawl in the most biologically diverse national park in the country: Big Bend National Park. In this photo, the mesas of Santa Elena Canyon soarĀ 1,500 feet above the flowing Rio Grande River. Of the canyons along the Rio Grande, this is the largest and, perhaps, the most iconic.
