Cotton in the Big Bend

Cotton in the Big Bend

With as wild and remote as Big Bend National Park is today, it’s hard to believe that this was once cotton country (and beans, and other vegetables). That is, of course, until you spot the piece of an old cotton gin in the brush. The other half is on display near a ranger station, this half was down a service road.
